QUINCY, Ill. – The Lewis University women's soccer team was unable to come away with the victory Sunday (Sept. 15) as Quincy had two second half goals which were the difference in its 3-1 victory.

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 1, Quincy 1
Lewis started the contest in the first 10 minutes with shots from Culver,
Jada Harvey (Roscoe, Ill./Rockford Christian) and
Melisa Hadzic (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) but none found the back of the net with two being saved. Quincy got on the scoreboard in the 17' with its first shot of the contest with a goal in the lower left corner to make it 1-0.
The Flyers looked to tie in the next 18 minutes after recording five shot attempts but none found the back of the net. In the 36', Lewis tied it after Rojnik found Sainato for an opening as she found the back of the net for the equalizer.
A couple minutes later, the Hawks looked tried to quickly take the lead but Lewis was able to save it to keep the score tied 1-1 going into the break.
Second Half: Quincy 2, Lewis 0
Quincy took the lead on the first shot the Hawks recorded in the second half in the 51' after Reegan Hess found Olivia Nelson to make it 2-1.
Morgan Krupp (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay High School) went on the attack right away as she looked to tie it quickly but her shot was saved to keep it 2-1 Quincy.
Aguilar had a trio of scoring chances in the 55', 57' and 58' as she shot on target but Quincy goalkeeper Julia Mincher saved both.
Carlie Burns (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) was also able to get off a shot off but it was off target.
Culver also saw an opening in the 61' but her shot was saved. The Hawks extended its lead out to 3-1 after Daniella Segall found the back of the net off the pass from Dache Johnson in the 65'.
Hadzic and Culver tried to cut into the deficit in the 74' and 76' but their shots were saved.
Isabella Vargas (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora), Harvey and
Maggie Maher (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) also had shot attempts but were all off target.
Final Score: Quincy 3, Lewis 1
