Romeoville, Ill.- The Lewis University Flyers Women's Basketball team lost their fourth game of the season against University of Wisconsin- Parkside on Tuesday, November 25 at Neil Carey Arena.
With the win, the Rangers improved to 4-2 while the Flyers dipped to 1-4.
IMPACT PLAYERS
Parkside's Cassidy Arni led the Rangers with 16 points and nine rebounds. Close behind, Katie Hamill dropped a total of 12 points.
Yahaira Bueno (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) led in scoring for the Flyers with 16 points. Gabi Hoover (Mishawaka, Ind./La Lumiere) and Jasmine Jones (Bolingbrook, IL/Bolingbrook) both had seven total rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Flyers struck first with a layup from Jasmine Jones (Bolingbrook, IL/Bolingbrook). Macy Lasu went on to score three consecutive points which helped the Flyers gain a bigger lead and gave Lewis the lead by three points after the first quarter, 11-8. The Flyers never let up in the second quarter and with help from Jones, Lewis entered the locker room with a 24-22 edge.
Parkside was quick to jump going into the third quarter and tied the contest at 24-24. The Flyers battled back but were not able to maintain their lead and were trailing by eight at the end of the third. Ready to fight back, The Flyers were able to tie up the game at 50-50 from a layup by Bueno. Ultimately, Parkside kept Lewis at bay and used a handful of late free-throws to secure the win at 55-50.

- · This was the third time Lewis had played UW-Parkside with the first game dating back to 2022.
- · Lewis Record against UW-Parkside now sits at 2-1.
- · Bueno has scored at least 10 points the past three games.
- · Ally Cesarini (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) hit a season-high in rebounds with six.
