Romeoville, Ill.- The Lewis University Women's Basketball Team played their second conference game of the season on Thursday (Dec. 4) against the University of Missouri- St. Louis Tritons.
IMPACT PLAYERS
Yaharia Bueno led the Flyers with 18 points and Jasmine Jones (Bolingbrook, IL/Bolingbrook) followed closely behind with 12 points. Gabi Hoover (Mishawaka, Ind./La Lumiere) had an impressive 10 rebounds.
As for the Tritons, Mara Reider led the team with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Jayden Kuper was a close second at 21 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After being down by three going into the second quarter, the Flyers were able to string along enough points to take the lead at 33-32. During the second, the Flyers made 100% of their free throws, allowing them to gain more points.
Jones struck first for the Flyers with a layup increasing their lead by three. The Flyers were eventually outscored only by two at 49-47 heading into the last quarter. A fastbreak layup early on from Ally Cesarini (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) tied up the game at 49-49. With a close last minute to play, the Tritons were able to take the victory closing out the game at 64-62
