Lewis Athletics Celebrates 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University Athletic Department proudly hosted its sixth annual Flyer Red Dinner, honoring the Class of 2025 Hall of Fame inductees. This year's distinguished honorees included George DiMatteo, Joe Falese, Amanda Farrough, Isaac Jean-Paul, Reetta Laakkonen, the 1981 women's volleyball team, and the 2001 softball team. Additionally, Janeen Decharinte was recognized as the Brother Raymond McManaman Lasallian of the Year.

The event welcomed 266 Flyer supporters for an evening of inspiring interviews and heartfelt storytelling. During the dinner, Assistant Vice President of Athletics John Ashaolu launched the Lewis Hall of Fame Renovation Project by contributing a $1,000 matching gift. In conjunction with the 2025 Lewis Day of Giving, the initiative successfully raised $13,000 toward the project.

With a total fundraising goal of $25,000, we are making significant progress toward our target. Your support can help us properly honor our esteemed inductees and preserve their legacy. To contribute or learn more, click here
