GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Quincy 5, Lewis 2
Quincy scored the first goal of the contest at 11:05 in the first quarter. Procyk responded with a goal at 7:57 to tie the game at 1-1.
The Hawks proceeded to score the next four goals, making it 5-1 in favor of Quincy. Winterlik scored the final goal in the opening period from a pass by
Eliana Cappellini (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada/Burnaby North Secondary School).
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 3, Quincy 2
Lewis recorded the first two goals of the second quarter, narrowing the gap to 5-4 in favor of Quincy. Roney passed the ball inside to Sweeney, who found the back of the net for the score.
Roney scored next after receiving a pass from Cappellini to make it a one score contest. The Hawks ended their scoring drought with another goal, extending their lead to 6-4.
McKinnon assisted it to Sweeney for the next goal, bringing the score to 6-5 in favor of Quincy. The Hawks scored again, closing the first half with a 7-5 advantage.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 4, Quincy 2
Quincy scored the first goal of the second half, two minutes in, extending their lead to 9-5. Lewis followed with three unanswered goals, making it a one score game.
Ravyn Jimenez (Navarre, FL/Navarre High School) passed it inside to Procyk for the goal. 25 seconds later, McKinnon found Winterlik for a goal making it 9-7.
Procyk then scored herself less than three minutes later, making the score 9-8. The Hawks responded with a goal, extending the back to 10-8 with 3:21 to play in the third.
Less than a minute later, Roney found Sweeney for the final goal of the quarter,, cutting the score down to 10-9.
FOURTH QUARTER: Quincy 5, Lewis 3
Quincy scored the first goal of the fourth quarter, extending their lead to 11-9. Winterlik scored the next two goals for the Flyers but the Hawks scored one in between, maintaining a 12-11 lead.
Quincy then scored another goal, extending their lead to 13-11. Cappellini scored the final goal for Lewis off a free position shot, making it 13-12.
Quincy finished out the last four minutes with the final two goals of the contest extending their lead to 15-12. That score held up as the Hawks defeated the Flyers 15-12.
FINAL SCORE: Quincy 15, Lewis 12
