Allendale, Mich. -- The Lewis University baseball team ended their 2025 season with a loss in the DII National Tournament to No.2 Grand Valley Saturday (May 17)

The Flyers scored first in the game, putting up two runs in the top of the first inning with a
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) lead-off walk and a
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) two-run home run his 24th round-tripper of the season. In the seventh inning
Tyler Phommachanhom (Plainfield, Ill/Parkland CC) had a RBI triple which scored
Cole Nelson (St. Charles, Ill/Lenoir Rhyne), concluding the scoring for the Flyers. Grand Valley scored in every inning except the eighth and ninth.
This season saw the Flyers accumulate a collection of achievements and awards, headlined by their achievement of becoming GLVC Regular Season Champions for the first time since 2013.
Head Coach
Mike Vucsko recorded his 100th career win in a 12-11 contest against Missouri-St. Louis and was named GLVC and NCBWA Midwest Coach of the Year.
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill./UNC-Pembroke) was named GLVC and NCBWA Midwest Region Player of the Year and
Brendan Lawry (Bolingbrook, Ill./Eckerd College) was named GLVC Pitcher of the Year.
The Flyers finish 2025 with a record of 37-18.
