TIFFIN, Ohio -- The No. 6 seed Lewis University softball team's season came to an end as the Flyers fell to the seventh-seeded Indianapolis 7-4, then lost to third-seeded Hillsdale 11-7 during the NCAA Division II Tournament-Midwest Region II Friday (May 9).

GAME 1 SUMMARY
Both teams were scoreless through the first two innings. Lewis jumped out with the first four runs of the contest in the third and fourth innings.
Nicole Magdziasz (Tinley Park, IL/Providence Catholic High School) reached first base after a throwing error by the Indianapolis third baseman, scoring
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School), making it 1-0.
Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School) extended the lead to 2-0 after hitting an RBI single to left field, scoring Magdziasz from second.
Lewis doubled its lead in the fourth inning with two more runs, giving the Flyers a 4-0 lead. Garden singled home
Ariana Trausch (Elk Grove Village, IL/Elk Grove High School) for a 3-0 advantage, then Magdziasz drove home
Grace Kmak (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central High School) with an RBI groundout.
That would be the last time the Flyers would score as the Greyhounds proceeded with seven unanswered during the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Indianapolis got two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and four in the seventh to go up 7-4.
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) recorded no decision after going 5.2 innings, allowing five hits, giving up three runs, walking five and striking out four. Garden (19-10) took the loss in relief with 1.1 innings, giving up six hits, allowing four runs (three earned).

GAME 2 SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second after Kmak reached first on a dropped fly ball by the Hillsdale right fielder scoring Hoffman.
The Chargers responded with six runs in the third inning, including a grand slam, making it 6-1. Hillsdale proceeded to score four runs in the fourth, putting them ahead 10-1.
The Flyers tried to crawl back into the contest after scoring four times in the bottom of the fifth, bringing the score to 10-5 in favor of the Chargers.
Ariana Trausch (Elk Grove Village, IL/Elk Grove High School) grounded out to the second baseman, scoring Garden, to make it 10-2.
Anna Frafjord (Sussex, WI/Hamilton High School) crushed her eighth home run of the season, a three-run shot to right center, scoring
Natalie Gomez (Tinley Park, IL/Tinley Park High School) and Magdziasz, making it 10-5 Hillsdale. Lewis got another run in the bottom of the sixth as Kmak scored on a Magdziasz fielder's choice, making it 10-6.
Hillsdale answered right back in the top of the seventh, extending their lead out to 11-6.
Lewis looked to rally for their last chance in the bottom of the inning after Hoffman drove home Frafjord with an RBI single making it 11-7. That score would hold up with Hillsdale winning 11-7.
