Lewis Men's Soccer Signs 18 Players for the 2025 Season

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University men's soccer team has signed 18 members for the 2025 squad, head coach Evan Fiffles announced. Below are those who are joining the Flyers this fall.
 
Ben Baker – A goalie from Toledo, Ohio, Baker went to St. Francis de Sales High School. He played club soccer at Pacesetter SC.
 
Gabriel Burga Goicochea – He was a five-time Athlete of the Year in high school in Lima, Peru. He played for the Universitario de Deportes U15 through U20 teams competing in national youth tournaments. He plans to major in Business Administration and play center and left back.
 
Kristian Emilsen – The center midfielder comes to Lewis from Oslo, Norway. He plans to major in Finance at Lewis and plays club for Lyn 1896.
 
Hubert Grele – The Bridgeview native played at Argo High School. He plays club for the Chicago Fire Youth Soccer Club.
 
Henrik Helgetun – The Oslo, Norway native is a right back on the pitch. He plays for Korsvoll IL.
 
Kalvin Lagunas – The center midfielder comes to Lewis from Rolling Meadows. He plays club soccer for Indiana Elite.
 
Lucas Lloyd – A Finance major from Ancaster, Ontario, Canada, Lloyd helped lead Bishop Tonnos High School to the fewest goals allowed in the league as a defender. Despite playing mostly defense, he still led the team with five goals scored in seven games. With SBFC Soccer, he scored 12 goals in winter league to lead the league and tallied 11 in summer league, which was second in the league.
 
Brody Macoubrie – He was First Team All-Region VI at Johnson County Community College, where he was also First Team All-Conference and First Team NJCAA Academic All-American. He was a seven-time Conference Goalkeeper of the Week. He went 16-6-3 with a 1.43 goals against average, recording 97 saves and six shutouts.
 
Franco Messer – He was an All-Conference performer at Plainfield North High School. The Radiology major helped the Tigers win the Plainfield Classic Championship.
 
Pacifique Ndayishimiye – He was the Beacon News Player of the Year, Daily Herald All-Area Captain, a two-time All-State selection and two-time Conference Player of the Year at West Aurora High School. He was also three-time All-Area, All-Conference and All-Sectional.
 
Philip Rabb – The center back joins the Flyers from Oslo, Norway. He has played with Lyn 1896 and is currently playing for Korsvoll IL in Norway.
 
Mario Ramirez – He was All-State in 2024 while at De La Salle Institute. He was four-time All-Conference and All-Sectional Honorable Mention. He also won the Tony Lawless Award in 2023 and 2024 and was a two-time MVP. He scored 51 goals and had 29 assists in his high school career.
 
Elijah Rodriguez – He was a captain at Plainfield Central High School along with being named All-Sectional and All-Conference. He helped his team to conference and regional championships. The business major recorded 10 assists and a junior and seven as a senior.
 
Hampus Ryno – He is coming from Sweden where he went on trial with semi-pro clubs. The six-foot, two-inch center mid is a Business Administration major.
 
Jørgen Sangolt – The Oslo, Norway native plans to major in Finance at Lewis.  He is a striker and left winger on the pitch. At 6-feet, 1-inch, Sangolt is a versatile attacker.
 
Gordon Stanich – The Plainfield Central High School graduate is a center midfielder.
 
Faustin Wilson – Was an All-State performer in high school at Von Stuben. The winger plays club for Chicago City SC.
 
Yoan Zagorov – He is coming to Lewis from Bulgaria. He is a 6-foot, 2-inch goalie who has played for the U-17 Bulgarian National Team.
