ROMEOVILLE, ILL- Lewis University Men's Basketball played a conference game against #9 Missouri S&T on Saturday, January 31at the Neil Carey arena. The Miners took the win at 90-59.
IMPACT PLAYERS
Andrew Young led the Miners with a total of 13 points. Zac Brown led with 7 rebounds. As for the Flyers,
Ryan Hall (Kettering, Ohio/Kettering Fairmont) had a total of 16 points, the most out of any Flyer.
Reid Loewen (Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada/CTA West) had 7 rebounds and
Cale Cosme (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) followed close behind with 6 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lewis struck first with a layup from Hall in the paint. The Miners were able to string along some points to allow them a 13-point lead with 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Although the Flyers were able to catch some points, they trailed by 22 at the end of the first half at 46-24.
After
Drew Fisher (Los Angeles, Calif./Crespi Carmelite High School) led the Flyers with a three pointer in the second half, they were hungry for more points. Unfortunately, the Miners never gave up their lead and Lewis was not able to make a comeback. The Miners took the game at 90-59.
