Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team fell 60-81 against Upper Iowa University this Saturday (Feb. 28) to close out the regular season.

Ryan Hall (Kettering, Ohio/Kettering Fairmont) proved once again to be a valuable player across both ends of the floor for the Flyers, as his 23 points on 8-11 shooting were the highest on Lewis' team. He also led the team in total rebounds with five, which were all defensive rebounds.
Drew Fisher (Los Angeles, Calif./Crespi Carmelite High School) also had a strong performance with 16 points and three rebounds, being the only other player on the Lewis team to score double digits.
Cale Cosme's (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) seven assists were the highest of the game for either team.Â

For the visitors, Jack Miller and Kyle Hrncir both led in scoring with 15 points, Hrncir also led in assists with six.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Flyers started the game off being comfortable in offense, making shots and having the lead multiple times throughout the first half. The Flyers had a lead as high as seven points at the 15:35 mark of the first half, after a three pointer by
Billy Durkin (Hinsdale, Ill./Wheaton) saw them go up 11-4 on the scoreboard.Â

Lewis maintained the lead with about three minutes to go, but Upper Iowa started to take over late in the first half which saw them have a lead as high as five points with 49 seconds to go in the first half.

Coming back from halftime break, Upper Iowa University kept taking advantage of their scoring opportunities, keeping their distance from the Flyers on the scoreboard. The only time the Flyers came close to controlling the game happened at the 17:55 mark, after a three pointer by
Ryan Hall (Kettering, Ohio/Kettering Fairmont) put the Flyers up 38-39. Just 24 seconds after Hall's successful shot from long range, a layup from Upper Iowa's Cael Reichter put the visitors in front of the Flyers, and they kept the lead for the rest of the game.
