Romeoville, Ill. - No. 10 Maryville outscored the No. 7 Lewis University men's lacrosse team 7-2 in the fourth quarter to claim a14-10 road win Saturday afternoon at Lewis Stadium.
With the win, the Saints moved to 8-2 (2-0 GLVC) while the Flyers shifted to 8-3 (1-1 GLVC).
IMPACT PLAYERS
Wyatt Robertson led Maryville with five goals while Colin Tobias notched a hat trick of his own and four points. Connor Kvaal and Shea Raeburn each picked up four ground balls and Evan Alfano made 14 saves for the visitors in the win.Â
Camden Rappis (Delafield, Wisconsin/Kettle Moraine HS) and
Kohl Wesner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) each had a hat trick in the loss while
Dylan Kendrick (Chanhassen, Minnesota/Chanhassen HS) and
Zach Ottolino (Lockport, Illinois/Lockport Township HS) collected four ground balls. Ottolino also caused a team-high three turnovers as well. In net,
Caden Donahue (Hugo, Minnesota/Mahtomedi HS) made nine saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 3-2 early in the second quarter, the Flyers found their footing as Rappis found the back of the net to spark a 3-0 spurt that moved the Flyers ahead, 5-3. Both sides tallied one more goal before the half ended with Lewis entering the locker room ahead, 6-4.Â

Out of the halftime break, both sides exchanged goals but a
Malikye Good (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS) man-up goal at the 3:01 mark gave Lewis a two goal cushion, 8-6. Still, the Saints clawed back as they rattled off back-to-back goals to tie the game, 8-8, with 14:41 left in the contest.Â
However, Lewis had an answer as Wesner dipped past a Maryville defender and fired the ball into the back of the net to reclaim the lead for the Flyers, 9-8.Â

Lewis' lead was short lived as Maryville took control, scoring six of the final seven goals of the contest to down Lewis at home, 14-10.Â
