St. Joseph, Mo. - The Lewis University women's lacrosse team fell on the road today against Missouri Western State University 10-16 in their final game of the 2026 campaign.
IMPACT PLAYERS
Georgia Kodytek (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake South) led the Flyers in goals with three and in points with five total.
Amelia Procyk (Coquitlam, BC, Canada/Dr. Charles Best Secondary School) tallied four points, the team's second highest. The rest of the goals for the Flyers came from
Kayla Clark's (Round Lake, Ill./Mundelein High School) two goals,
Ryan Paterson's (Pitt Meadows, BC, Canada/Pitt Meadows Secondary School) two and
Jade McKinnon's (Coquitlam, BC, Canada/Dr. Charles Best Secondary School) one goal.
Sophia Fountain (Berkeley, Ill./Montini Catholic High School) made eight saves in the contest as well.
The Griffins Jessica Brook led in total points with four points that came from four assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Missouri took control of the game early in the first quarter, opening with a goal just 39 seconds after the start of the game. They went on to score two more goals that strengthened their lead six minutes into the game. The Flyers responded with a goal by Clark with an assist by Procyk at the 9:26 mark.
Later in the contest down 2-4, Procyk contributed to the Flyers' score again, this time in the form of a goal from a free position shot with less than a minute left in the first quarter. The hostsscored one more with 24 seconds left to make it 3-5 after one.
Kicking things off in the second quarter, Paterson put another goal up in the scoreboard for the Flyers right away, which was assisted by Kodytek to trim the defecit to one. Still, the Griffins outscored the Flyers 6-1 the remainder of the way to enter the locker room ahead, 11-5.
Coming back from halftime break, the Flyers managed to outscore the hosts 3-2 in the third. McKinnon scored the first goal of the third, while Paterson and Kodytek added scores for the Flyers. Procyk and Kodytek accounted for Lewis' final two goals of the day while Missouri scored three more, handing the Flyers the 10-16 loss.
