Romeoville, Ill. — Lewis women's soccer put up a battle against Rockhurst Saturday afternoon at Lewis Stadium, but ultimately fell 2-1. With the result, Lewis moves to 2-4-0 overall (1-2-0 GLVC), while Rockhurst improves to 5-0-1 overall (3-0-0 GLVC).
IMPACT PLAYERS
Jordan Schaden (Appleton, Wis./Appleton East) scored the Flyers' lone goal, while
Jillian Barth (Pleasanton, Calif./Foothill) made nine saves in net. For Rockhurst, Maggie Leahy scored two goals, while Sydney Schnarr had four saves between the sticks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Rockhurst struck first in the 41st minute when Leahy snuck one past Barth to put one on the board before the half expired.
In the 47th minute, Schaden scored Lewis' lone goal of the game off a cross from
Anna Linsler (Emmendingen, Germany) to even the score 1-1.
The Hawks regained the lead in the 67th minute when Leahy found the back of the net for the second time.
Lewis attempted to even the score, but the Hawks kept the Flyers at bay to secure the road win.
GAME NOTES
- Barth was the only player to play the full 90 minutes.
- Today marked the 22nd meeting between the Flyers and the Hawks.
- In 2025, the match-up between the two teams ended in a tie.
