South Bend, Ind. — The Lewis women's cross country team finished first in the small-school division and third overall on Friday Morning at the National Catholic Invite with 98 points.
DePaul came in second (79 points), and Notre Dame came in first (15 points).
Megan Garrett (Charleston, Ill./Charleston) led the way for the Flyers, finishing 17th with a time of 18:14.9. Freshman
Valerie Quast (Mankato, Minn./St. Clair) was eight seconds behind, running 18:22.4 for a 19th-place finish, while freshman
Ayat Tantwi (Palos Heights, Ill./Alan B. Shepard) was 24th, running 18:29.2.
Rounding out the scoring five for Lewis was
Madilyn Calloway (Rochester, Ind./Rochester Community) in 28th place (18:35.4) and
Janellisa Oceguera (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) in 33rd place (18:46.9).
