Eddie Denard enters his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach for Lewis University.
Denard comes to Romeoville after spending the 2014-15 season coaching under Chicago State's Tracy Dildy. He also played under Dildy and helped the Cougars advance to the Western Athletic Conference Tournament as a No. 3 seed.
The Chicago native was a two-time Academic All-Conference selection at both Chicago State and New Orleans. As a sophomore, Denard was a NJCAA All-America Honorable Mention selection at Kirkwood Community College.
Upon his graduation, Denard spent a season playing professionally for the Hong Kong Bulls in China, before a knee injury ended his career.
As a prep for Foreman High School in Chicago, Denard left school as the all-time leader in double-doubles.
Denard's responsibilities will include player skill development, scouting and recruiting.
