Creig Federico

Five years ago, the Lewis University men’s volleyball team enlisted the expertise of Creig Federico as its Strength & Conditioning coach and other Flyer programs have noticed the results.

Federico also serves as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Flyer women’s volleyball (4th season), women’s soccer (3rd season), softball (2nd season), men’s soccer (1st season) and baseball (1st season). He also assists the Lewis Sports Medicine Team.

He also has experience working at the NCAA Division III level, while working with various local high school teams at Naperville North High School, Plainfield North High School, Benet Academy High School, Neuqua Valley High School and the UNO Volleyball Club.

He began his 30 years in the strength and conditioning field as the interim head strength and conditioning coach at Illinois State University where he supervised all athletic teams.

Federico later moved into the private sector, working as an exercise physiologist with various hospitals and physical therapy organizations, and began his own personal training company working with high school athletes, college athletes, entertainment personalities, local business executives and working with NFL agents in preparing their players for the NFL Combine.

His combine preparation, specifically testing protocol, led him to be named president and national director of a professional football scouting organization, testing college football players for NFL, CFL and AFL scouting (player personnel) departments.

Federico played college football at Illinois State University and also had brief stints in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Gladiators of Arena Football.

Federico holds a master’s degree in exercise science from Illinois State University where he also served as an Associate Professor in the Health and Physical Education Department.

His philosophy is direct, yet simple. Give something purpose and effort, and the outcome will be measured accordingly. Federico brings a unique philosophy and mental approach when working with and training athletes that is both inspirational and motivational.

Federico has two daughters Nikki and Katlyn.
