Evan Sholudko begins his third season as the head coach of the men's and women's swimming program at Lewis University.
In two seasons, Sholudko has coached 25 men & 22 women to All-GLVC honors. Under his guidance, the women’s team finished 7
th at the 2022 GLVC Championships and had their highest finish in team history this past season finishing 4
th. The men and women have also achieved CSCAA Scholar All-America team honors each of the 4 semesters under his leadership. Along with 10 Individual Scholar All-American recipients.Â

He has coached 8 All-American selections combining for a total of 16 all-American honors. The team has broken 17 school records and student-athletes achieved 41 NCAA consideration times (B Cuts). Qualifying four individuals to Division II NCAA Championships in 2021-2022 and seven individuals in 2022-2023. This was the most swimmers Lewis qualified to NCAAs since the 2014-2015 season. The men finished 22
nd overall at the 2022 NCAA championships and 26
th at the 2023 NCAA Championships.

Most notably, he coached Ruben van Leeuwen to a third-place finish at NCAA Championships in 2021-2022, this was the highest finish of a Lewis swimmer in school history. Ruben was also named Male Athlete of the Year at the annual Lewis University Charlie awards.
Sholudko spent the two years prior to Lewis as the head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming programs at Eastern Illinois University. At the time of hire, Sholudko became the youngest head coach in Division I collegiate swimming (25). His teams posted 7 school records, 89 All-Time Top Ten EIU Performances, 4 Summit League swimmer of the week honors, 11 All-Summit League Athletic honors, as well as 8 Summit League Academic All-League honors.
Prior to his time at EIU, he coached at Assumption University, serving as the head men’s swim coach 2018-19 and as the assistant head women’s coach 2017-2019. In 2019, Assumption won the Northeast 10 Conference Championship and finished second in 2018.Â
Sholudko began his NCAA coaching career in 2016, as Assistant Coach at Stevens Institute of Technology, where he helped coach the program to an Empire 8 Conference Championship in 2017. While also qualifying two swimmers to Division III NCAA Championships. That year the Steven’s coaching staff was named 2017 Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year.

Personally, Sholudko swam varsity for 4 years at the University of Massachusetts. Most notably, finishing fourth in the 400 IM and seventh in the 1650 Free at the 2013 Atlantic-10 Conference Championships.
