Tierney Lockett enters her 6th season as an assistant coach for the Lewis women’s basketball program.
Lockett was on staff in 2023-24 at Lewis as it posted a 23-9 record. The Flyers won the GLVC regular season championship, in the process setting a program record for GLVC wins in a single season and went on to claim the GLVC tournament title as well, earning the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
In 2022-23, Lockett helped lead Lewis to a 21-11 record. The Flyers finished in second place in the GLVC standings, advanced to the championship game of the GLVC Tournament and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
After finishing her playing career at Lewis University in 2018-19 Lockett joined Lewis’s staff as a graduate assistant for the 2019-20 campaign and spent two years in that role before being named assistant coach in 2021-2022 season.
During her career at Lewis, she appeared in 121 games with 59 starts. Lockett was a part of four straight teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. During her senior year she started all 32 games averaging 10.4 points, 3.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds per contest. She reached double figures in scoring 17 times, highlighted by a 26-point performance in the season finale at Truman State. Lockett also recorded a career-high 11 assists in the win over Quincy on Jan. 5.
She received her bachelor's degree in Sport Management and got her Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in Marketing, both from Lewis.
