Lemont, Ill. - On a perfect sunny day with clear skies, the 46th annual Lewis Athletics Golf Outing was a roaring success on June 12 at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. The annual event brought together alumni, sponsors, and supporters for a memorable day of golf and celebration of the Flyers.
There could not have been a better day for golf as there was no rain in the forecast to pair with bright sunny skies, allowing for ideal playing conditions across the 18-hole scramble
Split across two courses, the team of
Frank Palmasani, John McIntire, Jeff Roberts and
Leonard Bertolini captured the title on Cog Hill Course No. 1, carding -11 to win on a tiebreaker. On Cog Hill Course No. 3, the squad comprised of head men's and women's golf course
Greg Baresel, Caswell Bloomquist, Cody Donovan and
Ty Doty secured the team title with an impressive score of -15, the lowest score of any group throughout the day on either course.
"What a tremendous day to celebrate our Flyer student-athletes," Assistant Vice President for Athletics
John Ashaolu said. "We're incredibly thankful to our sponsors, golfers, alumni, and supporters who continue to invest in the success of Lewis Athletics. This year's outing was a wonderful celebration of another exceptional year for our department and a reminder of the bright future ahead for our student-athletes and programs."
The annual event supports the
Flyer Athletics Fund, which directly benefits Lewis University's athletic programs and more than 450 student-athletes. Additionally, the 47th annual Lewis Athletics Golf Outing is set to take place at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club once again on June 11, 2027.
