Men's Soccer Eases Past Missouri-St. Louis

ROMEOVILLE - Lewis broke open a close game late in the second half and blanked Missouri-St. Louis 3-0 Sunday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference men's soccer game.

The victory lifted Lewis, ranked No. 9 nationally in NCAA Division II and tied for No. 2 in the Great Lakes Region, to 13-1-2 overall and 6-1-2 in the GLVC. The Flyers are in third place in the GLVC with one regular-season conference game remaining.

Justin Sanabria scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season (Cathal Brady assist) at 41:35 to give Lewis a 1-0 halftime lead.

The Flyers took command when Brady tallied his fourth goal of the year (Sanabria, Ashley Goddard assists) at 78:10. Brady tacked on an insurance goal (Matt Field assist) at 80:31.

Lewis dominated the statistics, outshooting the Rivermen (6-9-2, 2-6-1 GLVC) 28-8 overall and 11-1 in shots on goal and earning a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks. Dan Breen got the victory in goal.

The Flyers play their final GLVC regular-season game Saturday at Northern Kentucky.
