KENOSHA, Wis.--Sophomore Theresa Nugent powered the Lewis University women's volleyball team to a sweep of Wisconsin-Parkside with a 13-kill performance.
Nugent led the Flyers in kills and finished the match with a .429 hitting percentage after committing just one hitting error in 28 attempts. She also had 12 digs to post her 10th double double of the season. Her efforts pushed Lewis (14-9, 6-5 Great Lakes Valley Conference) past the Rangers 30-17, 30-24, 30-26.
Also contributing for Lewis were senior Megan Poludniak (nine kills), sophomore Sarah McKinney (seven kills, eight digs, four blocks) and senior Maggie Haen (20 digs).
The win is the Flyers' fourth straight victory and their seventh in their last nine matches. With five regular-season matches remaining, Lewis sits in sixth place in the GLVC standings. The Flyers are 2.5 games ahead of Missouri-St. Louis for the sixth and final spot in the conference tournament.
