KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State scored two penalty-kick goals, the second a game-winner with 3:28 to play, and defeated Lewis 3-2 Saturday in a battle of nationally ranked men's soccer teams.

Truman State (2-0-0), ranked 20th in NCAA Division II, used Ricky Vigil's penalty-kick goal at 28:37 to take a 1-0 lead. No. 16 Lewis (0-1-2) gained a 1-1 halftime tie on Tito Lara (Shorewood, Ill./Joliet Central)'s unassisted goal, his second of the season, at 39:22.

The Bulldogs' Sean Birrell (Clayes assist) gave his team a 2-1 lead at 59:28, but the Flyers pulled even again on freshman Cathal Brady (Dublin, Ireland/St. Peters College Dunboyne)'s first collegiate goal (unassisted) at 74:36.

The decisive goal was set up when a Lewis player drew a red card for taking down a Truman State player on a breakaway. Clayes converted and the Bulldogs held on to win.
