RENNSELAER, Ind. -
The Lewis University women's soccer team fell short in its bid to win its first Great Lakes Valley Conference game of the season in a 2-0 loss to Saint Joseph's.
Saint Joseph's (8-6-1, 6-2 GLVC) handed the Flyers (3-11-1, 0-5-1 GLVC) their third straight loss. Lewis is winless in its last five games, but a 1-1 tie against Wisconsin-Parkside on October 3 is included in that stretch.
Goalkeeper Courtney Hutt (Belvidere, Ill./Boylan) recorded eight saves in the game.
The Flyers will have a chance to claim their first GLVC victory in three years when they host last-place Kentucky Wesleyan October 17. This season Kentucky Wesleyan is 2-8 overall and 0-7 in the GLVC.
