FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's volleyball team handed Lewis University its second defeat in as many meetings this season to sweep the season series between the schools.

Lewis, the defending national champions, fell 14-30, 27-30, 27-30 to IPFW. The Flyers dropped to 7-6 overall and 3-2 in the MIVA with the loss.

The win makes an early statement for the Mastodons in Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association action. IPFW now holds any tiebreaker over the Flyers should the teams wind up tied in the final league standings.

Defensively, Ryan Stuntz and Jeff Soler had a team-high 10 digs each.

The loss snaps a five-game winning streak for the Flyers. Lewis will look to get back in the win column when it hosts Findlay at 7 p.m. Feb. 20.
