Flyers Ends Losing Skid with Sweep of George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. - Enrique Escalante and Greg Pochopien provided a consistent middle attack for the Lewis men's volleyball team as the Flyers swept George Mason 3-0. The 31-29, 30-28, 30-25 victory ends a four-match losing streak for the team, the longest losing streak in Lewis' history. Escalante pounded 10 kills and hit a match-high .692, while Pochopien added a career-high 12 kills.

Sophomore setter Brandon Sisk set one of his better matches of the season with the team hitting .316 for the match. In addition, he recorded 45 assists in the three-game match.

Fabiano Barreto posted 16 kills and hit a season-best .400 in the win.

The Flyers will open their conference season at home this Wednesday. The team hosts IPFW at 7 p.m. January 28.
