RENNSELAER, Ind. -
Playing without first-team All-GLVC middle hitter Katie Gilman, the Lewis University women's volleyball team lost to Saint Joseph's 30-23, 30-32, 19-30, 30-28, 8-15 October 3. Lewis was limited to a .186 hitting percentage on the evening, and posted just 47 kills compared to Saint Joseph's 76 for the match.
Lisa Paasch and Theresa Nugent paced the Flyers (10-6, 2-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference) with 13 kills each. The Pumas (6-14, 3-3 GLVC) were led by Breanne Evans' 21 kills.
Maggie Haen had a team-high 24 digs to lead Lewis' defense.
Gilman was injured in a non-volleyball related incident this past week and has been sidelined since. The timetable for her return is unclear.
Lewis will attempt to get back on track Saturday afternoon when it travels to Indianapolis for a 2 p.m. match.
