Big Win Over Upper Iowa Improves Men's Soccer To 2-0

ROMEOVILLE - Justin Sanabria (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) tallied two goals and three assists and Scott Hall (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North) scored two goals Sunday to lead the Lewis University men's soccer team to an 8-2 non-conference victory over Upper Iowa.

Sanabria assisted on the Flyers' first two goals scored by Matt Field (Burr Ridge, Ill./Hinsdale South) at 2:00 and Alejandro Blinder (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Instituto French) at 4:56.

A goal by Sergio Lira (Evanston, Ill./Evanston) (Sebastian Falinski (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Conant), Mike Dahm (Belleville, Ill./Belleville East) assists) followed at 15:01, and Sanabria (Levar Cypress (Rockford, Ill./Christian Life Center)) knocked in his first goal at 15:31 to give Lewis a 4-0 cushion.

Kyle Touchette scored an unassisted goal at 27:14 for Upper Iowa (0-2), which is making a transition from NCAA Division III to Division II. Sanabria's penalty-kick goal at 39:02 and Hall's first goal (Lira, Sanabria) at 43:41 made it 6-1 Lewis at intermission.

Goals by Hall (Nick Kowalski (Niles, Ill./Niles Notre Dame)) at 50:20 and Kowalski (Ryan Doody (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East)) at 79:52 concluded the scoring for Lewis (2-0). Upper Iowa's Greg Stice (Touchette) netted the game's final goal at 88:35.

Lewis outshot Upper Iowa 36-4, including a 16-2 edge in shots on goal.
