Flyers Show Balance In GLVC Victory

ROMEOVILLE - Lewis shrugged off a game-one loss in Saturday's Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball match against Saint Joseph's and went on to post a 27-30, 30-20, 30-16, 30-23 victory at Neil Carey Arena.

The Flyers (14-10, 7-5 GLVC) featured a balanced offensive attack that led to a .257 hitting percentage. Aubrey Dondlinger paced Lewis with 12 kills and a .500 attack percentage, while Theresa Nugent and Rebecca Lisle registered 11 kills apiece. Val Olis collected nine kills and hit .381, and Jenna Sayers notched seven kills and a .500 hitting efficiency.

Setter Andrea Morrone, who tallied eight service aces against Indianapolis Friday night, tacked on four more aces and added 44 assists and three blocks Saturday. Abby Hodge tied for match-high honors with 13 digs, Stacey Hameister had nine digs, and Nugent and Olis recorded eight digs apiece.

Nugent and Sayers had four blocks each and Lisle had three blocks for the Flyers, who limited the Pumas (9-17, 4-7 GLVC) to a .099 attack percentage.

Lewis travels to GLVC rival Wisconsin-Parkside Tuesday.
