Flyers Handle Kentucky Wesleyan In Four

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Theresa Nugent and Aubrey Dondlinger provided heavy-hitting offense, and Abby Hodge enjoyed a career defensive outing Saturday to push Lewis to a 32-30, 22-30, 30-13, 30-16 Great Lakes Valley Conference women's volleyball win over Kentucky Wesleyan.

Nugent collected 21 kills and made just five errors in 40 attempts for a stellar .400 attack percentage, while Dondlinger posted 17 kills for Lewis (17-10, 9-5 GLVC). Setter Andrea Morrone handed out 51 assists for the Flyers, who won their fourth match in succession overall and third consecutive conference tilt.

Meanwhile, Hodge registered a career-high 28 digs to spearhead a Lewis defensive effort that limited Kentucky Wesleyan (2-20, 0-13 GLVC) to a .139 hitting efficiency. Morrone and Stacey Hameister contributed 13 and 10 digs, respectively, and Rebecca Lisle had four blocks.

Lewis earned big advantages in hitting percentage (.232-.139), kills (62-37) and digs (82-47).

The Flyers finish the regular season at home next weekend, hosting GLVC opponents Drury (Friday, 7 p.m.) and conference leader Rockhurst (Saturday, 2 p.m.).
