ROMEOVILLE, Ill.--The 15th-ranked Lewis University men's volleyball team swept Carthage, the nation's No. 8 NCAA Division III team, 30-25, 30-19, 33-31.
Jeff Soler tied for match-high kill honors with 16. He also had three blocks, five digs and a .464 hitting percentage.
Jared Dayton posted 15 kills and hit a match-high .591. Tom Mendoza and Brandon Sisk shared the setting duties with Mendoza passing out 15 assists in one game, while Sisk handed out 24 assists in two games.
Lewis outhit Carthage .340-.143 and had 11 more kills.
The Flyers are off this weekend as they prepare for their annual spring break trip to California. This year the team will face USC (March 1), 2004 NCAA runner-up Long Beach State (March 2) and California Baptist (March 5).
