Flyers Rally To Beat George Mason In Five

FAIRFAX, Va. - Lewis received solid contributions from several players Saturday night in a 30-27, 31-33, 28-30, 30-23, 15-9 non-conference men's volleyball victory over George Mason.

Greg Pochopien registered a .500 hitting percentage with 15 kills and Jeff Soler had 15 kills for the Flyers, who improved to 11-9 with their third consecutive win. Pochopien and Soler tallied seven and five blocks, respectively.

Matt Mueller enjoyed a big outing with 12 kills, a .450 hitting efficiency and a team-high eight blocks, while Enrique Escalante contributed 14 kills and seven blocks. Brandon Sisk had 62 assists, six digs and four blocks, Jared Dayton notched 13 kills and J.J. Castellano contributed eight digs.

Lewis chalked up 16 blocks and limited George Mason (14-4) to a .221 hitting percentage for the match. The Flyers hit .419 to Mason's .154 in the final two games to spark their recovery from a 2-1 deficit.
