A match-high 15 kills from Theresa Nugent and 10 from Charisse Steckling carried the Lewis Flyers to a 30-15, 30-16, 30-20 non-conference win over the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers, Friday night at Neil Carey Arena.
The Flyers finished the regular season 22-5, capturing the most wins since the 2002 team finished 25-5. The Rangers dropped to 8-17.
The Flyers hit .364 for the match, while limiting the Rangers to .011. Steckling hit .474, and Nugent hit .344. Sarah McKinney hit .583 with eight kills and Kim Richards added a .500 effort with eight kills.
Andrea Morrone and Lauren Hatter paced the Flyers' defense with 10 digs each. Lewis recorded seven blocks, compared to two by the Rangers, and the Flyers served six aces while allowing none by the Rangers.
Jacqui Bradenburg's eight kills led the Rangers. Jackie Nehls added 15 digs.
Up next for the Flyers is a trip to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament beginning on Thursday on the campus Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Lewis' first-round opponent and the time of the match are to be determined.
