KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Despite receiving 17 points and a team season-high 15 rebounds from Stephan Bolt, the Lewis University men's basketball team dropped an 84-72 Great Lakes Valley Conference decision at Rockhurst Thursday night.

The Flyers fell to 10-10 overall and 4-8 in the GLVC with their sixth consecutive defeat. Rockhurst, one of three new GLVC teams, improved to 9-11 overall and 5-7 in league play.

Bolt tied his best scoring output in a GLVC contest this year, matching the 17 points he tallied in Lewis' 91-88 overtime victory over Missouri-St. Louis Jan. 5. He led the Flyers in rebounding for a fourth straight time and 16th time overall this season.

Pat Monaghan scored 11 points and Ryan Sharp netted nine points, his best in a conference outing.

Rockhurst scored the first six points and remained on top throughout. Leading 28-22 at the 7:23 mark, the Hawks, who were 6-of-10 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes, outscored the Flyers 17-4 down the stretch and took a 45-26 advantage into the break.

Rockhurst opened the second half with an 8-2 spurt that established its largest lead, 53-28, and the Hawks maintained a double-digit cushion the rest of the way.

Aaron Hill (20 points), Kevin Martin (19 points) and Cory Schulte (15 points) paced the Rockhurst scoring effort. Martin grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and Joey Deas collected six assists for the Hawks, who were 19-of-23 (.826) at the foul line and committed only 10 turnovers.

The Flyers will try again to return to the win column when they travel to Springfield, Mo., to face Drury on Saturday.
