QUINCY, Ill. - A pair of two-run seventh inning rallies carried Lewis (12-2, 2-0 GLVC) to a 6-5 and 5-4 doubleheader sweep of Quincy, Saturday afternoon at the Mart Heinen Complex.

With runners at second and third in the top of the seventh of game one, Amy Yusko shot a two-RBI single into center field to put Lewis in front. Courtney Lyons, who came on as a relief pitcher in the sixth inning, held Quincy at bay in the bottom of the seventh to pick up the win.

Yusko, who was 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run in the game, plated Lewis' first two tallies with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. Mallory Paine also homered in the game.

The Flyers were down to their last out in game two when Kristy Vanek sent a two-run home run over the wall in left field to give Lewis a one-run lead. Lyons again shut down Quincy in the bottom half of the inning to pick up her second save of the season.

Yusko, who scored on Vanek's home run, was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI in game two.

Julie Wingerter (3-0) picked up the win in game two. She struck out four and allowed seven hits without an earned run over six innings of work.

Robin Martz combined to go 4-for-8 with three runs over the two games. Christina Willis was 2-for-4 with three runs for the afternoon, and Lisa Gartland increased her hit streak to a team-best nine games with an RBI double in game one and a single in game two.

The Flyers return to the field on Sunday for a doubleheader at Missouri-St. Louis. First pitch is scheduled for Noon.
