Flyers Hit .407, Sweep Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Theresa Nugent and Charisse Steckling each tallied 14 kills as the Flyers hit a season-best .407 in a sweep of Drury 30-13, 30-27, 30-28, Saturday afternoon in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match.

The Flyers improved to 9-4 (3-1 GLVC) and have won seven of their last eight matches.

Steckling hit a match-high .458, connecting on 14 of 24 hitting attempts with only three errors. She also registered three service aces. Nugent hit .387 for the match, while Stephanie Sagat added 10 kills with an impressive .526 hitting percentage.

Lauren Hatter led the Flyers defense with 11 digs, while Nugent and Sagat each added eight. Lewis held a 7-4 edge in blocks with Sara deBuhr collecting two solo and two assisted blocks.

Court Hendrickson paced Drury with a match-best 19 kills.

Lewis returns to action on Tuesday night when the Flyers host Wisconsin-Parkside at 7:00 p.m.
