Flyers Keep On Rolling, Beat Saint Joseph's 3-1

RENSSELAER, Ind. - Lauren Hatter and Theresa Nugent each set a career high in digs as the Lewis Flyers topped Saint Joseph's 25-30, 30-26, 32-30, 30-25 Friday night in a conference match.

The Flyers won their fourth match in a row and the 10th in their last 11 tries to improve to 12-4 (6-1) on the season.

Hatter collected 33 digs, marking the second time this season she has eclipsed the 30-dig plateau. Nugent registered 25 digs along with 14 kills. She now needs 13 more kills to set Lewis' career kills record for the rally-scoring era.

Sarah McKinney had 16 digs with 11 kills, and Stephanie Sagat had a team-best 17 kills to go along with 12 digs. Andrea Morrone was the other Flyer to reach double figures in digs with 13, while Charisse Steckling was the fourth Flyer to hit double digits in kills with 11. Steckling also added one solo and four assisted blocks.

Sara Cramer led Saint Joseph's with match-high 23 kills, while Lockport's Robyn Bozych collected match bests with 53 assists and four service aces.

The Flyers held a .241 to .178 advantage in hitting and an 8-3 edge in blocks.

Lewis faces Indianapolis Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
