Lewis Dominates Quincy

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Ten Flyers recorded kills in Lewis' sweep of Quincy (30-27, 30-20, 30-12) Thursday evening at Neil Carey Arena in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match.

Though they would control most of the match, the Flyers had to fight back to take game one. Quincy led for most of the game, holding a four-point lead at times. Lewis took the game with help from sophomore Kim Richards, who registered four of her team-high 11 kills in the game.

Lewis stayed hot in game two, using an 11-2 run to win the game.

The Flyers dominated game three, holding leads of 10-2, 20-4 and 29-7. Quincy added five points before a kill by sophomore Christina Avilina put the match away.

Freshman Lauren Seliga recorded 15 digs and seven kills. It was her ninth double-digit dig match in her last 11 matches.

Freshman Ashlee Lindish recorded a match-high 17 digs. Lauren Hatter added 10 digs.

The Flyers drastically out-hit the Lady Hawks .223 to -.031. It is the first time this season the Flyers have held an opponent to a negative hitting percentage.

Lewis also out-blocked the Lady Hawks 10-7.

The Lady Hawks' Kaylan Koepke recorded a match-high 12 kills.

The Flyers' thirteenth sweep of the season improved them to 17-3 (9-2 GLVC). The Lady Hawks dropped to 14-10 (4-8 GLVC).

Lewis hosts Missouri-St. Louis tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. and Missouri-Rolla at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
