Lewis Dominates Saint Joseph's

RENSSELAER, Ind. - The Flyers took the first match of their weekend road trip with a 30-19, 30-17, 30-18 sweep of the Saint Joseph's Pumas Friday night in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match.

Lewis dominated the match, hitting .233 and holding the Pumas to a -.031 hitting percentage. The Pumas hit -.051 and -.078 in the first two games before registering a .053 hitting percentage in the final game.

It is the second time this season the Flyers have held a team to a negative hitting percentage. On Oct. 11 Lewis held Quincy to the same -.031 mark.

Sophomore Stephanie Sagat had a match-high 17 kills. She was also one of five Flyers to record double-digit digs with 10.

Freshman Ashlee Lindish notched a team-high 16 digs. Senior Andrea Morrone had 14 digs with 23 assists in just two games of action. Freshman Rachel Ruedi relieved Morrone and recorded 16 assists.

Freshman Lauren Seliga had 12 digs with nine kills. Junior Lauren Hatter added 10 digs.

The Flyers improved to 23-3 (13-2 GLVC). Saint Joseph's fell to 10-15 (4-12 GLVC).

Sarah Frantz and Dana Gust each had seven kills for the Pumas.

The Flyers face conference foe Indianapolis on Saturday. The Greyhounds are No. 17 nationally and No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region. The Flyers are in second place in the GLVC East Division, behind only Indianapolis.
