Jared Dayton hit .370 and led Lewis with 16 kills, but No. 8 Ohio State topped the Flyers 30-28, 30-25, 30-27, Friday night in a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association match.
The Flyers fell to 10-4 (4-4), while Ohio State improved to 12-1 (3-0).
Dayton's kill total came on 27 attempts with six errors, and he added a solo block. Drew Pickering slammed 10 kills, hitting .238, and he led Lewis with seven digs and two aces.
David Kelnhofer registered eight kills and two assisted blocks, and Billy Sahagian hit .857 with six kills. Nick Perakes had five digs.
Ohio State's Dan Meske led all players with 17 kills, hitting a robust .556. John Albertson added 11 kills for the Buckeyes, with a .692 hitting effort.
The Buckeyes out-hit Lewis .462 (55-13-91) to .278 (45-20-90). Ohio State also held a 10-7 edge in blocks.
The Flyers host Carthage on Tuesday.
