Nick Perakes posted a match-best 12 digs, but it wasn't enough for the Lewis Flyers in a 30-26, 30-22, 30-28 loss to No. 12 Hawaii, Saturday before 1,798 fans at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Flyers fell to 14-9, while Hawaii improved to 7-13.
Drew Pickering led Lewis with 10 kills, and he had six digs, two block assists and one ace. Jared Dayton added nine kills and six digs, and Billy Sahagian registered nine kills with a .471 hitting effort.
Alex Vigansky totaled eight kills, hitting .417, and he had two block assists. Nathan Klass posted six kills while hitting .545.
Matt Vanzant's match-high 14 kills paced Hawaii. Brian Beckwith led the team with eight kills.
Hawaii hit .370 (47-10-100) and limited the Flyers to a .236 (47-21-110) effort. Hawaii also held a 9.5 to 7.5 edge in blocks.
The Flyers return to action on March 27, playing at Milwaukee School of Engineering.
