Alex Vigansky (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper)'s kill/block double-double was one of several highlights for Lewis as five Flyers reached double digits in kills in a 31-33, 30-28, 28-30, 30-23, 15-12 win over UC San Diego Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
Vigansky matched his season high with 11 kills and set a career high with 10 assisted blocks. He also served two of Lewis' four aces. Jared Dayton led the Flyers with 21 kills, hitting .325, and David Kelnhofer added a season-best 16 kills with a solid .481 hitting effort. Kelnhofer also had two solo blocks.
Billy Sahagian matched a season best with 10 kills, hitting .412, and he added six digs, one solo and two assisted blocks. Drew Pickering totaled 12 kills, four digs and one ace.
Mykolai Zerebeckyj posted a season high of 10 digs, and Jordan Vidovic had a career-best 65 assists.
Lewis hit .353 (72-23-139) compared to .290 (73-31-145) by the Tritons. Lewis also held a 15.5 to 9.5 advantage in blocks.
After splitting the first four sets of the match, the fifth game was tied 12-12 before Dayton slammed a kill to give Lewis a one-point lead. Attack errors by the Tritons on the next two rallies gave Lewis the win.
Three Tritons reached 20 or more kills in the match. Jason Spangler led all players with 22 kills.
Lewis (12-6) concludes its west coast trip with a match at California Baptist on March 9.
