ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Billy Duffy collected five hits for the Lewis baseball team Tuesday in the Flyers' doubleheader loss to Indianapolis at Brennan Field.

Duffy was 4-for-4 in the nine-inning opener, a 13-3 Indianapolis win that counted in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings. He had a double in two official at-bats in the non-conference, seven-inning nightcap that Indianapolis captured by a 6-1 count.

Duffy reached base in seven of eight plate appearances in the twinbill. He was hit by a pitch once in each game.

Mike Smith had two RBI in game one and added an RBI double in game two, while Ryan Duran drove in a run in game one. Chris Brigham had two hits, including a double, in game two.

Lewis starter Jon Crettol was charged with all six runs in the nightcap, but the Greyhounds' five first-inning tallies all were unearned as the Flyers committed three errors. Crettol allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out four in five innings.

Indianapolis improved to 14-17 overall and 9-9 in the GLVC, while Lewis slipped to 4-24 overall and 3-15 in league play.

The Flyers play doubleheaders at Northern Kentucky Friday and Saturday.
