Twelve Flyers recorded kills in Lewis' sweep of conference foe Kentucky Wesleyan (30-10, 30-27, 30-15) Saturday afternoon at Neil Carey Arena.
The Flyers dominated from the start, jumping out to a 19-4 lead and finishing with a .515 to .000 edge in hitting percentage.
Many of the Lewis reserves saw action in game two. Freshman Rachel Ruedi filled in for senior Andrea Morrone. Ruedi recorded 15 assists, four digs and one service ace to help Lewis win game two.
Lewis ended the match strong with a 15-4 run to close out game three, out-hitting the Panthers .333 to -.065 in the game.
Sophomore Kim Richards and junior Justina Begemann tied freshman Danielle Mount for a match-high eight kills. Mount's eight kills is a career-high.
Freshmen Staci Paul and Ashlee Lindish tied for a match-high with 12 digs.
Morrone recorded at match-high 25 assists.
Lewis recorded six service aces, all by different players, to the Panthers' one. The Flyers out-hit (.402 to .041) and out-blocked (8-1) the Panthers.
Erin Krodel and her sister Meredith Krodel recorded six kills for the Panthers. Erin Krodel also registered a team-high nine digs.
The Flyers improved to 13-2 (5-1 GLVC) while the Panthers fell to 4-11 (0-6). The win marked the Flyers' 11th sweep of the season.
Lewis plays at Drury on Friday and Rockhurst on Saturday. The Flyers return home on Oct. 11 to host Quincy.
