Flyers Win Ninth Straight Sweep

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - It was a familiar scene at Neil Carey Arena on Friday night as the Lewis Flyers defeated the Saint Joseph's Pumas 3-0 (30-24, 30-23, 30-14) for their ninth straight sweep.

The victory was the Flyers' first conference victory of the season. Lewis improved to 9-1 and 1-0 in the GLVC while the Pumas fell to 5-4 and 0-1 in the GLVC.

The Flyers held a dominating .242-.007 edge in hitting percentage. Lewis finished the match with a .371 to -.091 hitting percentage in the third game.

Senior Andrea Morrone had a phenomenal all-around evening. She recorded a season-high in kills (10) and assisted blocks (5). She also added 37 assists, eight digs and one service ace. Morrone finished with a .769 hitting percentage.

Sophomore Kim Richards was Morrone's partner on defense, assisting on four of Morrone's five assisted blocks.

Sophomore Stephanie Sagat had a kill-dig double-double with a match high 13 kills and 11 digs.

The Flyers continue to receive contributions from their freshmen. Ashlee Lindish recorded 15 digs. She has led the Flyers in digs in eight of the Flyers' ten matches. Lauren Seliga had 14 digs, seven kills and two service aces.

The Pumas' Sara Cramer had team-highs in kills (10) and digs (15). Lockport native Robyn Bozych added 21 assists, 12 digs and four kills

The Flyers hit the court again tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Neil Carey Arena against Indianapolis.
