Women's Volleyball GLVC Win Streak Halted By Pumas 3-1

RENSSELAER, Ind. - The No. 21 Flyers' school-record 21 match Great Lakes Valley Conference win streak dating back to last season was snapped on Tuesday evening when the Saint Joseph's Pumas defeated Lewis 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 25-16, 28-26).

 

Junior Stephanie Sagat (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) led the Flyers with 11 kills. Senior Lauren Hatter (Avon, Ind./Avon) recorded a season-high 24 digs. Junior Sara deBuhr (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) and sophomore Danielle Mount (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) each had nine kills.

 

The Pumas held edges in hitting percentage (.320 to .138), digs (81 to 68) and blocks (9 to 3). Sara Cramer had 11 kills and 10 digs. Sharon Freund added 10 kills. Lindsay House added 23 digs.

 

The Flyers' 21 conference match win streak nearly doubled the previous mark of 12 from 1989 to 1990.

 

Lewis falls to 24-6 (12-1 GLVC). Saint Joseph's improves to 12-14 (5-9 GLVC). The Flyers face the Pumas on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Neil Carey Arena.
