ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - In his final home game, senior Brian Clancy had a two-out, two-RBI single to break an eight all tie in the eighth inning. The Flyers added two more in the inning to defeat St. Francis 12-8 on Wednesday evening at Brennan Field.

The Flyers had 16 hits. Freshman Mike Vucsko finished with four hits. He scored the game tying run in the eighth after he doubled with one out. Senior Billy Duffy followed with a double to knock Vucsko in. Duffy was 3-for-5 on the day with two RBI and two runs scored. Duffy came around, along with senior Bryan Druktenis who was intentionally walked, on Clancy's game winning single. Druktenis finished 2-for-2 with two runs, two walks and an RBI. Junior Ryan Reynolds pinch hit and worked a walk to load the bases for Clancy's heroics. Junior Michael Fedoruk followed with a two-RBI single to score Reynolds and Clancy and give the Flyers their four-run advantage. Senior Jon Guzzo came in and pitched the ninth. Senior Adam Stabosz (4-6) allowed only one hit in the eighth to get the victory.

St. Francis put one on the board in the top of the first. Lewis tied it up in the bottom of the second when Druktenis scored on a wild pitch after doubling to start the inning. The Flyers scored three in the third. Vucsko got it going when he singled with two outs. St. Francis kept the inning alive for the Flyers when second baseman Artie Morales booted a groundball by Duffy. Smith took advantage of the St. Francis error by knocking Vucsko and Duffy in with a double to center. Druktenis then doubled to score Duffy.

St. Francis took a 6-4 advantage with five runs in the top of the fifth. The inning featured five straight Fighting Saints' singles. Lewis took a 7-6 lead with three runs in the sixth. Sophomore Joe Carbone, Vucsko and Duffy all had an RBI in the inning. But the lead was short lived, as Brian Davis hit a two-run home run in the seventh to give St. Francis an 8-7 lead. It stayed that way till the Flyers' thrilling eighth inning.

Lewis had a season-high seven doubles. Lewis pitchers struck out a season-high 11 batters. Starter Chris Brigham fanned seven over six innings.
