GLVC Men's Soccer Quarterfinals: #3 Lewis 1, #6 Quincy 0 in PDF Format 
Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's soccer team used a strong defensive effort, aided by a late first-half goal by senior forward Nestor Hernandez (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West), to claim the 1-0 victory over Quincy in a Great Lakes Valley Conference quarterfinal match-up at the Lewis Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon.
Lewis, who has now won eight-straight games, improves to 13-3-1 overall and will square off with No. 2 seed Northern Kentucky in the GLVC semifinals, hosted by Drury, on Friday, November 6th at 5 p.m. Quincy ends the season with a mark of 9-8-2.
Hernandez posted his career-high 12th goal of the season with 85 seconds left in the opening half, as he cleaned up a pass from sophomore defender Nathan Groesch (Decatur, Ill./MacArthur/Bradley) at the 43:35 mark.
Lewis goalkeeper Sebastian Kieruzal (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates)
stopped two shots to claim his 10th shutout of the season. Kieruzal has not allowed a goal in his last 487:12 minutes played.
