ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - No. 11 Lewis swept Saint Joseph's 25-14, 25-21, 25-22 in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on Friday evening at Neil Carey Arena.

GLVC Player of the Year Stephanie Sagat (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) hit .381 with a double-double of 11 digs and 10 kills. Junior Lauren Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx) added 11 digs and nine kills. Senior libero Ashlee Lindish (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) totaled 19 digs.

"Ashlee is playing with confidence," head coach Lorelee Smith said. "She knows she is responsible for a lot of area and has taken ownership of it."

Lewis led the first two sets the entire way, and it looked as if they weren't going to trail at all until Saint Joseph's rallied from a 15-8 deficit to take the lead at 18-17. The Pumas were three points away from taking the set at 22-19 when the Flyers scored the final six points of the match. With Lindish serving, graduate student Adria Phillips (South Bend, Ind./Riley/Indiana) came in fresh off the bench and delivered the tying kill at 22 all. A kill by senior Kim Richards (Evergreen Park, Ill./Mother McAuley), a Saint Joseph's attack error and another Richards kill ended the match.

Lewis out-hit Saint Joseph's .263 to .116. The Flyers improve to 29-3 while the Pumas' season ends at 13-19. The win was the Flyers 40th straight win at home dating back to 2007, and their 26th straight victory this season.

The top seeded Flyers play fifth seeded Rockhurst on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the GLVC Semifinals.
