Evansville, Ind. - Lewis University junior Kathryn Hague (Chicago, Ill./Mt. Assisi) became the first Flyer women's cross country runner to earn All-American honors in 12 years, as she turned in a 40th-place and season-best finish of 21:59.3 at the 6K NCAA Division II Cross Country championships, hosted by Southern Indiana, on Saturday (Nov. 21) afternoon.

All individuals placing in the top-40 receive All-American honors. Hague is the first Flyer since Malgorzata Biela, Magdalena Paszta and Kasia Arient accomplished that feat in 1997, to earn that distinction.

"Kathryn ran a great race today," Lewis head women's cross country coach Dana Schwarting said. "It was pretty hot down here today and some runners didn't handle it so well. She set out to get All-American and she ended up running her best race of the year."

A Catholic university sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis offers nearly 80 undergraduate majors and programs of study, accelerated degree completion options for working adults, various aviation programs and 22 graduate programs in nine fields. The 10th largest private, not-for-profit university in Illinois is being honored for the sixth consecutive year by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report.
