KENOSHA, Wis. - Senior David Kelnhofer (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) led No. 15 Lewis with nine kills in the Flyers' 30-24, 30-21, 30-22 sweep of non-conference foe Carthage College on Tuesday evening.
Senior Drew Pickering (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wauwatosa West), fresh off being named Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the Week, hit .500 with eight kills and eight digs and two blocks (one solo) in just two sets of action. Freshman Gustavo Cintron (Delray Beach, Fla./Spanish River) added six kills on nine swings. Junior Mike Iandolo (Orlando, Fla./Long Beach State) totaled 15 assists and five digs, all in the first set.
The Flyers held a dominating .319 to .020 hitting percentage advantage, including a .444 to -.111 edge in the second set.
"It was a good team effort," head coach Dan Friend. "We used a couple different lineups and worked on some things."
Tom O'Connell led the Redmen with eight kills. Carthage falls to 4-10.
The Flyers are now 6-2. Lewis hosts No. 6 UCLA on Friday at 7 p.m.
